I'm sure that my really low expectations contributed to me enjoying this movie, but regardless, the general consensus around the internet (from what I could gather) is that its a pretty good 'found-footage-esque' one, with some really inventive ways of using the media (an online call/meeting) and integrating it into the scary parts. Its only 50 minutes long, so it doesn't overstays its welcome, and all the tense moments and jumpscares are very well made, and I also didn't feel that any scene was over the top, like some in Unfriended. It released last year and from what I could find online, the quarantine and covid were its main inspirations. I was really bored tonight and was looking for something to watch on Netflix when I bumped into this movie called 'Host'.
